THE INSTITUTION

The Paraná Cancer Fighting League, founded in march 8th 1947, which sponsors the Erasto Gaertner Hospital, is composed of three units: the Hospital itself, the Teaching, Searching and Tecnology Unity and the Women’s Cancer Combat Network.

HOSPITAL ERASTO GAERTNER

It is a center of excelence in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and also a reference in the Southern Brazil. The Institution is philanthropic and treats more than 90% of its patients through the Unified Health System (SUS), with highly enabled professionals.

TEACHING, RESEARCH AND TECNOLOGY UNITY

Erasto Gaertner Bioengineering Institute

The Erasto Gaertner Bioengineering Institute, created in 1985, is the only national manufacturer of totally implantable venous catheter, and counts with a team of especialized tecnicians in the medical and hospital area turned to the orthopedic and maxillofacial implants, catheters and hospital usage of hospital supplies.

Learning and Research Projects Center

Also created in 1985, the Learning and Research Projects Center is reference in the teaching and searching area. It develops congresses, lectures, specializations courses and graduates specialized professionals in oncology for more than 25 years. Through this wide scientific knowledge production about cancer, the Erasto Gaertner Hospital became a Hospital-School in 2004.

WOMEN’S CANCER COMBAT NETWORK

Consisting of 400 volunteers, who act in various sectors, inside and outside the Erasto Gaertner Hospital. It is known for the assistance to patients and their families, prevention and fundraising, it was founded in 1954.
